Hurricane Preparedness Week just ended and Hurricane Season starts on June 1 and runs through November 30, 2010 in the U.S. Hurricanes are regular seasonal threats that can affect a wide area of both coastal areas and those living farther inland. At least with a hurricane we receive up to a week of warning due to the hard work of the National Hurricane Center and Pacific Hurricane Center (part of NOAA).
